The three formats in one minute
A roll face towel is a continuous strip of towel fabric, perforated into sheets and wound on a core or without one, that the user tears off one sheet at a time.
A pull-out face towel is a stack of interfolded sheets in a box or soft pack: pulling one sheet lifts the next into the opening.
A hanging face towel is a pull-out soft pack with a hook, loop or adhesive strip, so it hangs on a wall and dispenses from the bottom.
Individually wrapped sheets are a fourth format, used mainly by hotels and airlines. They appear in the tables below for comparison.

Boxed and soft-pack XL towels sell the most on Amazon US. Most top results for “disposable face towels” in October 2026 were 10"×12" or 12"×12" towels in boxes or soft packs of 50–100 sheets, and the leading boxed XL listing showed a “100K+ bought in past month” badge. Q2Which format do spas and estheticians use?+
Spas and estheticians mostly use perforated rolls, because a roll on the trolley dispenses fast with one hand and keeps the cost per treatment low. Back-bar buyers also take large salon rolls sold by weight, such as 600 g or 1,000 g, and pull-out packs for reception or retail. Retail shelves favor boxes, which stand up and carry the most print; hanging packs work as household multipacks. Retail buyers also look at case pack, shelf depth and barcode placement, so confirm the planogram space before you choose. How format changes packaging, MOQ and cost
Packaging, not the towel, causes most of the cost difference between formats, and it also sets the MOQ. The fabric cost per square meter is the same whether a sheet is rolled, folded or wrapped.
Converting line. Each format runs on a different machine: rolling machines perforate and wind rolls, folding machines interfold sheets for boxes and hanging packs, and wrapping machines seal single sheets. Ask which formats a factory converts in-house.
Print minimums. Printed boxes carry the highest minimums, often 5,000 boxes or more in China; printed soft packs about 1,000–3,000; roll wraps and labels the lowest. At ZEFU, private-label MOQ starts at 1,000 boxes per design.
Hanging hardware. A plastic hook, loop or adhesive strip adds a part and an assembly step. It must hold the full pack when wet and should not leave marks on tiles.
Sheets per pack. More sheets per pack spread the packaging cost. That is why 200-sheet hanging packs sell for less per sheet than 50-sheet XL boxes.
Plastic-free messaging. A towel made from 100% viscose fibers (plastic-free) can still come in a plastic film pack or with a plastic hook. Make the claim about the towel only, or choose a paperboard box.

Compare price per square meter, not per sheet
Sheet counts mislead, because hanging packs and rolls often use smaller sheets than XL boxes.

A 50-sheet XL box (25×30 cm) holds 3.75 m² of fabric; a 200-sheet hanging pack of 20×20 cm sheets holds 8 m². At the same GSM, the hanging pack carries about twice the fabric. Compare quotes and retail prices per square meter, or per gram of fabric, before you decide which format is “cheaper”.
